Greetings and thanks for joining me.  I am glad to to be back this morning.  Today, I am going to do a tour of the Big Annemessex River with Dash.  It is perhaps the most rural watershed in the Bay as it remains populated with several historic plantation homes, such as Kingston Hall, Cottage Hall, Tudor Hall and others. It is one of my favorite places in the Chesapeake and easily one of the the hardest to spell as well (spell check has it underlined now).  I am not even sure I spelled it right this time, so keep checking back to the website.  Here are the coordinates per a link to what Wikipedia says about it.

In some ways, I really grew up on the Annemessex hunting and taking many cold boat rides in January with my Dad.  (There is a previous blog referencing the “cold hands”). Never really until today will I get on the River in warm weather, so this will be new to see my hunting spots and surrounding farms this time of year.

While we are definitely “working” today as we take a look at a few farms on the river, we might drop a line or two in the water to see what is hanging out below the the tide line as well.  I have learned of a few fishing spots near Moon Bay and Coulbourne Creek.  We are on a falling tide till almost noon this morning and I am looking to have the boat in the water by 7:30, so it is time to grab my partner and head out.
