Birthday Blog
5:45 AM – July 15, 2016
Good morning! As promised, I said I would check in while in Charleston and today being my Daughters shared birthday with mine served as a great opportunity.
Standing on the beach watching an amazing Cumulonimbus cloud (storm cloud) rage off the Atlantic, I recognize the metaphor for the coming year, but in truth it is passing, so I am good!
It has been an amazing week and my main man Dash and I are fishing this morning with a local guide out of Shem’s Creek.
Being in Charleston this week is always motivational for me, as it is easy to witness a community working to grow their economy while also protecting their natural resources and history. The newspapers are full of these examples, but it is refreshing to see the balance in action in this dynamic Low Country economy. A recent statistic I read stated 60 people a day are moving to Charleston. It is easy to understand why and perhaps one day I will find my way here later in life.
For now, I am looking forward to my 41st year and once this storm rolls through, I will be chasing fish around Charleston Harbor today. Be well.
Onward!
