Matt Dowdy - Land Consultant
Matt Dowdy, ACF, started Dowdy’s Forest & Land Management, LLC in January of 2007 as a full service forestry consulting firm with an eye towards thinking outside the box. His family owns over 500 acres of timberland in Louisa County, Virginia that they actively manage for timber, wildlife & recreation.
Matt has worked throughout his career in helping his clients with respect to timberland purchases. He has advised them on timber values, forest & wildlife management and recreation. Many of the same principles that he uses to manage his own forestland.
Matt is a 1992 graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in forest business. He has 29 years of forestry consulting experience, and remains an active leader and lynchpin in many forestry and natural resource associations, including the Association of Consulting Foresters, the Society of American Foresters, the Virginia Forestry Association, the Quality Deer Management Association, and the American Tree Farm System.
In his spare time, he likes to hunt, fish, cook BBQ, watch Hokie football and collect vintage forestry & forest fire items.
