Bobby Gorski - Land Advisor
Bobby was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Dorchester County. His love for wildlife and the outdoors led him to West Virginia University (WVU) where he earned a BS degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Resources in 1994. During and after college, he spent 10 years working at Environmental Concern, Inc. (EC) where he gained experience in native wetland plant identification and propagation, wetland mitigation plantings, and tidal shoreline restoration. This work planted a seed in Bobby, which grew into a love for wetlands and in later career positions, influenced his passion for wetland habitat and restoration projects. Not long after leaving EC, Bobby began his new career in the agriculture community in Talbot County, MD with the Talbot Soil Conservation District and Maryland Department of Agriculture as a Conservation Planner. After about six years, his career path led him to Delaware with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) where he remained for 14+ years as a Soil Conservationist covering all of Sussex County. In both states, Bobby assisted the farmers and landowners in using government cost-share programs to improve wildlife habitat, restore wetlands, manage their timber, and be overall great stewards of the acres they owned and operated. After a short stint with MD NRCS as a Wetland Biologist, Bobby found himself back in Sussex County as a Conservation Planner with the Sussex Conservation District in October 2020. In January 2022, he accepted a new challenge as the Agriculture Conservation Specialist with the Delmarva Chicken Association (DCA), formerly known as the Delmarva Poultry Industry (DPI). In this role, Bobby assisted poultry growers across Delmarva in addressing natural resource concerns in their operations. In July 2022, he made the decision to leave DCA to provide full-time attention to the clients of The Land Group. Along this journey, Bobby has gained tons of knowledge in understanding the operating needs of poultry farms, grain & vegetable operations, and other livestock farms in this region. His 30+ years of knowledge and experience in areas of native plant species selection, soil and water conservation, wetland restoration easements, planning and installing shallow water impoundments for waterfowl, and other upland wildlife habitat projects will serve as a benefit to The Land Group’s clientele. With his understanding of State and Federal cost-share programs, Bobby has assisted farmers and landowners across two states in addressing natural resource concerns on the properties they own and manage.
Bobby currently resides in Seaford, DE with his wife Christy and their two children, Hanna & Ross. Away from work, he spends his time working outside tending to the family’s dogs, goats, and laying hens. He likes to fish in the local rivers and ponds when time is available and has recently taken an interest in hunting. Bobby is a diehard WVU Mountaineer fan who rarely misses football and basketball games when televised. Bobby is looking forward to providing his knowledge of agriculture, wildlife habitat enhancement, wetland restoration, and government cost-share funding programs to the clients represented by The Land Group, across Delmarva.
