Stuart Hamilton - Geographic Information Scientist
Stu Hamilton (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor of GIS and the GISM Graduate Program Director at Salisbury University, MD. He was formerly owner of Gulf Coast GIS and helped found the GIS center at the College of William and Mary. Stu is a certified GIS professional (GISP) and a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society (FRGS). He has published over twenty GIS-based peer-reviewed journal articles in top journals such as Nature Climate Change (NCC), Nature Ecology and Evolution (NEE), and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) as well as authoring two remote sensing books. He has twenty years’ experience building geospatial models to meet the needs of both research and industry. He has recently returned from Africa where he completed a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis for terrestrial and floating solar panels in-and-alongside Lake Victoria.
