Why & How

Vision

The Land Group began with founder Benjamin Alder’s desire for deep-rooted understanding of land, conservation, and connections between natural and economic systems. Unlike traditional real estate firms, TLG was built with a focus on land as both a resource and an investment, united by a shared passion for preserving and maximizing the potential of the land. It started with a vision. It started with the land.

Intention: Meeting the Challenge of Land & Industry

At The Land Group, our mission goes beyond selling land—we’re dedicated to solving real challenges for landowners, agribusinesses, and natural resource stewards in the Chesapeake region. With deep expertise in land use, conservation, and economic forces, we provide strategic solutions for poultry farmers, timberland owners, organic producers, and more. Our intentions and innovations are what help clients navigate the complex realm of land management while preserving the region’s agricultural and natural resources. Along the way, “We Sell Dirt.”

The Common Thread

Purpose & Mission

Our vision and intention have a common thread—a common relationship between land and agribusiness in the Chesapeake region. Farmers, watermen, and land managers understand that long-term success depends on balancing resource use with conservation. The nature of the job is to adapt, innovate, and work within their communities to ensure sustainability. At The Land Group, we want to cultivate this relationship and provide the expertise to help you navigate it for lasting success.
