Why We Do It
To put it broadly, land as an asset has become understood as a pathway to long-term wealth. The tangible asset of land has more variation in its use and ultimately, more potential for its value. For example, residential or commercial buildings have one purpose, and while there are still a range of conditions influencing the buildings’ utility and value, land on its own, has a complex set of characteristics that are best measured and understood by a professional.
A land advisor is well versed in a broader range of knowledge than nearly any other real estate practice. Our team provides a multidisciplinary approach with expertise and understanding of natural resources, ecology, wildlife management, agriculture & forestry, land conservation, land use planning & zoning, economics, AND all the basic knowledge relating to real property ownership and management.
As a company, The Land Group has training and experience within all of these disciplines. Recognizing the need for this specialized knowledge, we built The Land Group to serve current and potential landowners and land managers with expert guidance.
What We Do
The Land Group provides advisory services to landowners and land buyers in the acquisition and disposition of land and agricultural assets. Our advisors work with clients that have land goals ranging from a 10-acre wooded lot to a 200-acre irrigated farm.
TLG has many specialties in the agricultural and agribusiness industry such as poultry farms, and sod production. Production agriculture in the Chesapeake Bay region is highly competitive in its demand for farmland, and The Land Group works successfully with producers to find land for growing your agricultural operations.
The Delmarva Peninsula is one of the most important regions in the country for producing poultry and poultry-related products. While agricultural land use and agribusiness is a primary driver of the economics of the Chesapeake Bay, the region’s natural assets—forests, wetlands, and waterways—make it a unique location for sporting and wildlife properties.
Today, The Land Group’s land brokerage services along the Eastern Shore and Mid-Atlantic region cater to a variety of land uses and investment needs, backed by a team with deep industry experience and local expertise.
Since 2000, The Land Group team has completed over $1.26 billion on land transactions on over 100,000 acres of land. Today, TLG’s inventory of public and exclusive inventory exceeds $300M.
