Val Nasir began her career working alongside her husband in the family supermarkets in Connecticut, often with her young children by her side. In 2012, seeking a new path, Val and her husband, Far, embarked on the adventure of poultry farming with their children. They relocated to Worcester County, Maryland, where they established their chicken farm—a move Val considers one of the best decisions they ever made.
Her firsthand experience in both building a farm from the ground up and embracing the farming lifestyle inspires her passion for helping others buy and sell farms. Val understands the labor of love that is chicken farming and enjoys sharing that knowledge with others.
Beyond farming, Val is an ambassador with Perdue, where she highlights the life of a chicken farmer through her social media presence, @FollowValsFlock. She has served on the Maryland FSA State Board (2022–2025), is an active member of the Delmarva Chicken Association and the DCA Grower Committee and was honored as Grower of the Year in 2020. Most recently, she joined the Board of Supervisors for the Worcester County Soil Conservation District.
